We COULD do 16k by 16k but there's technical challenges there with just getting it to convert properly and I know it freaks out when an image is bigger than that because it thinks its a decompression bomb attack
So yeah, 8192x8192 is the limit for now, if in future we get fast enough servers we can do 16000x16000 but that'll be the hard limit because of WebP's maximum dimensions
